Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian musician and singer from Canada. Initial work can be called "lo-fi R&B to futuristic dance-pop",[4and influenced by hip-hop and electronic music, as well as rock. The songs she sings often speak to feminist and science fiction themes. Five studio albums have been made available by the group. Grimes was born in Vancouver before moving to Montreal. She started her independent music career in late decade. In 2010 she debuted two albums via Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. Later, she was signed to 4AD and became a household name with the release of her third album Visions which came out in the year 2012. Visions includes the singles "Genesis", and "Oblivion" which won it the Juno Award in Canada for Electronic Album of the year. Art Angels, her fourth studio album, came out in 2015. A number of publications have rated it one of the greatest albums. In 2020, she released Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). Beyond the music industry, Grimes had a voice role in the 2020 action role-playing video game Cyberpunk 2077 and is a judge on the competition for musicians game series Alter Ego.
